Chatting with an atheist on my article on the proof of God's existence.
He uses the classical argument that the Christian God can be substituted with "alpha", another god.
As we progress, he makes "alpha" more and more like the Christian God, until "alpha" is a copy of the Christian God.
It comes to show that the rebellion runs so deep, the unbeliever will admit that belief in a god exactly like the Christian God is needed, but they won't serve the Christian God.
This might also be a warning for us. We can idolize our apologetic so much, having all the irrefutable arguments and all. But in a sense if we have no relationship with God (neglecting Scripture, prayer, Church etc.) we're really no better than this atheist.
We would have also substituted God for a god just like Him.
